Middle School Chorus Rehearsal Expectations and Attendance Policy
In order to obtain our goal of developing musicianship and the ability to work together and perform as an ensemble we need to have a fully committed ensemble at every chorus rehearsal.
As each rehearsal is a critical piece in our preparation for concerts, all students are expected to be on time and present for the entire rehearsal. As a member of the chorus you are required to be in attendance for each rehearsal. If a student is in school and does not attend class, I will follow up with the teacher and make sure the student was safe somewhere and then discuss why they didn't attend their scheduled class. If a student has had an extended absence from school, the student will work with Ms. Hersee and his/her academic teachers to determine a plan for completing all makeup work to avoid any undue stress to the student.
Occasionally situations arise where there may be a need for a student to meet with an academic teacher. If this is the case the teacher would contact me and we would work that out together. The student should never not show up to their scheduled class.
The amount of effort and hard work in the classroom will be reflected in the caliber of our performances. All students are expected to give 100%. The success of our choir depends on the integrity of each member. Singing in harmony can only be accomplished by working in harmony.
Thank you
Ms. Hersee
